2.2.410. SPN 98, FMI 18, Oil level sensor: Oil level too LOWΒΆ
Description
The measured oil level is too low. Drive vehicle to flat ground and check oil level from the dipstick. Acceptable oil consumption is 0,2% from the fuel consumption.
Possible causes are:
- The vehicle has been in a steep inclination for too long. Oil level check is done after ignition is switched ON
- The engine has oil leak
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the fault lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then check the following solutions:
- Check oil level from the dipstick and fill the oil if necessary. Note: Vehicle must stand in a flat surface when checking this action
- Search possible oil leak by visually.
