2.2.363. SPN 5370, FMI 2, WG Actuator 1: Position deviation (ERROR 3)ΒΆ

Description

The wastegate actuator difference between the actual and the target shaft position is too high.

Possible causes are:

  • The wastegate actuator is defective.
  • The wastegate actuator shaft is twisted or blocked.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the wastegate actuator assembly to detect the defective control shaft.
  • Check the operation with another WG actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
