2.2.110. SPN 3031, FMI 3, DEF tank temperature sensor: Electrical signal above normal, possible reason is open circuit.ΒΆ
Description
The measured temperature signal of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)tank sensor is above the normal operating range.
Possible causes are:
- The DEF tank sensor wiring is defective (shorted to high source or open circuit).
- The DEF tank sensor is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.
NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power is reduced after a certain time defined by an authority.
Solution
First save the error log and then obey the solutions that follow:
- Examine the DEF tank sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
NOTE: The DEF tank temperature and level sensors have a common reference GND.
- Try the DEF tank sensor operation with another DEF tank sensor.
