2.2.70. SPN 168, FMI 18, Battery voltage: Powerstages could be disabled due to low Battery voltage.ΒΆ

Description

The powerstages could be disabled when the battery voltage falls below normal (<8,7V).

Possible causes are:

  • The battery/batteries are defective.
  • The generator is not working properly.
  • The battery wiring is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault. Engine functions that depend on powerstages are disabled.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Examine the battery/batteries condition (see Engine ECU power supply).
  • Make sure the generator is working correctly and measure that the charging voltage is correct.
  • Examine the battery wiring from the ECU to battery/batteries.
