3.2.349. SPN 520384, FMI 16, Air Mass Flow Sensor over temperature warningΒΆ
Description
The EEM monitoring system has detected an air mass flow sensor over temperature warning. The sensor could still work well, but it has reached its maximum temperature limit.
Possible causes are:
- The fan belt is slipping or the belt is broken.
- The fan is broken and not turning with the engine.
- The air mass sensor temperature shield is damaged or removed, if it is assembled to the engine.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:
- Check the fan belt and the belt tension.
- Check that the fan is turning with the engine.
- Check that the air mass flow sensor temperature shield is still in its correct place.
See Airmass sensor for reference.
