3.2.348. SPN 520384, FMI 14, Air Mass Flow Sensor temperature sensor defectedΒΆ

Description

The EEM monitoring system has detected that the air mass flow sensor temperature sensor defected.

Possible causes are:

  • The fan belt is slipping or the belt is broken.
  • The fan is broken and not turning with the engine.
  • The intercooler is not working and the intake air temperature is too warm.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:

  • Check the fan belt and the belt tension.
  • Check that the fan is turning with the engine.
  • Check that the ECU has no other intake temperature warnings.
  • Check the operation with another air mass sensor to see if the sensor is defective.

See Airmass sensor for reference.
