2.2.365. SPN 5451, FMI 14, WG Actuator 1: Initialization error (ERROR 6)

Description

The wastegate actuator’s EEPROM checksum is wrong and the software cannot be initialized.

Possible causes are:

  • The wastegate actuator is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power is reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the operation with another wastegate actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
