2.2.256. SPN 4795, FMI 12, Particle filter: DPF removal detected (Pressure based)¶
Description
The WinEEM monitoring system has detected possible DPF (diesel particle filter) removal.
Possible causes are:
- The DPF has been removed
- The DPF has leakage
- The DPF pressure pipes to the difference pressure sensor have a leak.
- The DPF difference pressure sensor is defective
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the fault lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault. NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power is reduced after a certain time defined by an authority.
Solution
First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:
- Check that DPF hasn’t been removed
- Check the DPF for possible leakage
- Check the DPF difference pressure sensor pressure pipes for possible leakage
- Check the DPF difference pressure sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
See Diesel particulate filter (DPF) difference pressure sensor sensor for reference.
