2.2.190. SPN 4332, FMI 31, SCR system: Emptying not completed at previous shutdown

Description

The EEM monitoring system has detected an SCR system ERROR. The DEF supply module was unable to perform the emptying at the previous shutdown.

Possible causes are:

  • The ECU power supply was turned off before the DEF supply module was successfully emptied the DEF system.
  • The DEF supply module is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • If another fault code is active, it may cause the present error.
  • Check the vehicle’s main switch operation. If the main switch is manual, do not switch it off until the emptying is performed successfully.
  • If the error code is repetitive, test the operation with another DEF supply module to see if the supply module is defective.
