2.2.99. SPN 27, FMI 17, EGR valve: Position deviationΒΆ

Description

The EGR actuator difference between the actual and the target shaft position is too high.

Possible causes are:

  • The EGR actuator shaft is twisted or blocked.
  • The EGR actuator is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the EGR actuator assembly to detect the defective control shaft.
  • Test the operation with another EGR actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
