2.2.93. SPN 2791, FMI 10, EGR valve: Initialization error

Description

The EGR actuator’s EEPROM checksum is wrong and the software cannot be initialized.

Possible causes are:

  • The EGR actuator is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power is reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Test the operation with another EGR actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
