2.2.91. SPN 2659, FMI 1, EGR valve: Circulation mass flow rate below normalΒΆ
Description
The EGR circulation mass flow rate is below normal.
Possible causes are:
- The EGR actuator control shaft is defective.
- The EGR valve is stuck or the valve flap has loosened.
- The EGR circulation is blocked.
- The EGR actuator is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power is reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates an active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:
- Make sure that the EGR actuator assembly to see if the control shaft is defective.
- Make sure that the EGR valve is not loose.
- Examine the EGR valve to see if there is dirt between the valve flap and the turbo.
- Examine the EGR valve to see if there is dirt between the valve flap and the engine intake manifold.
- Test the operation with another EGR actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
