2.2.40. SPN 1188, FMI 13, WG Actuator 1: Calibration error (ERROR 11)ΒΆ

Description

The Wastegate actuator calibration failed after initial power on. Actuator span is outside of the calibration window.

Possible causes are:

  • The Wastegate actuator control shaft is defective.
  • The Wastegate valve is stuck or the valve flap has loosened.
  • The Wastegate actuator is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power is reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the WG actuator assembly to see if the control shaft is defective.
  • Check that the turbo WG valve is not loose.
  • Check the turbo WG valve to see if there is dirt between the valve flap and the turbo.
  • Check the operation with another WG actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
