3.2.332. SPN 520317, FMI 31, Rail Pressure control: Pressure reduction interrupted

Description

After engine shutdown, the EEM4 control system reduces the rail pressure. The reduction is done with a brief activation of the injector. The activation reduces the rail pressure without injecting any fuel into the cylinder.

The SPN 520317, FMI 31 fault indicates that the blank shots have been aborted and that the goal of the pressure reduction has not been reached.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log.
