3.2.232. SPN 4360, FMI 2, SCR catalyst inlet gas temp sensor value abnormal rate of changeΒΆ

Description

The EEM4 monitoring system has detected abnormal behavior (a too high rate of change in normal operation) in the exhaust gas temperature sensor value.

Possible causes are:

  • A loose contact or a damaged wiring harness.
  • The inlet exhaust gas temperature sensor is defective.
  • The inlet exhaust gas temperature is installed incorrectly.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.

NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power will be reduced after a certain time which is defined by an authority.

Solution

First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:

  • Check the inlet gas temp. sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
  • Check the outlet exhaust gas temperature sensor assembly. Make sure the sensor is assembled according to the AGCO Power installation instructions.
  • Check the operation with another inlet exhaust gas temperature sensor to see if the sensor is defective.

See Exhaust gas temperature sensor for reference.
