2.2.338. SPN 521022, FMI 31, EAT Monitoring: Possible exhaust line temperature sensor interchangeΒΆ

Description

The exhaust temperature sensors may be cross-connected.

Possible causes are:

  • The exhaust temperature sensors are cross-connected.
  • One of the exhaust temperature sensors is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Examine that the exhaust temperature sensors are connected correctly.
  • Examine that the SCR catalyst inlet temperature sensors are not cross-connected.
  • Examine the exhaust temperature sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
  • Examine that each of the exhaust temperature sensors are effective. Change defective sensors to new sensors.
