2.2.181. SPN 3969, FMI 0, Particle filter: Regeneration needed-Service level

Description

The particle filter soot load has reached level 4. Engine power is reduced until DPF regeneration is performed.

Possible causes are:

  • The DPF regeneration hasn’t activated earlier.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the fault lamp is activated. The engine power is reduced (Degradation 2). The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

  • DPF regeneration with an official service tool or from driver HMI is needed to reset soot load and power reduction
