2.2.174. SPN 3521, FMI 16, DEF quality: Urea concentration too highΒΆ

Description

The DEF suction module is installed in the DEF tank. The suction module is an independent unit which measures all the critical parameters of the aqueous urea solution.

The measured DEF quality indicates: The urea concentration is too high.

Possible causes are:

  • The used reducing agent urea concentration is over 62,5%

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power is reduced after a certain time defined by an authority.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the used reducing agent (DEF/AdBlue) quality. If there are any suspicions that a poor quality reducing agent has been used, the tank needs to be emptied and flushed.
  • Refill the DEF tank with valid reducing agent (AdBlue).
  • Check the operation with another DEF suction module.
