Description

The DEF suction module is installed in the DEF tank. The suction module is an independent unit which measures all the critical parameters of the aqueous urea solution. The EEM4 monitoring system is not able to detect the DEF tank Information message from the bus.

Possible causes are:

  • The fault is an internal electronic fault in the suction module.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power is reduced after a certain time which is defined by an authority.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Check the DEF suction module wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
  • Check the operation with another DEF suction module to see if the module is defective.
