2.2.101. SPN 28, FMI 4, Accelerator pedal 3: Electrical signal below normal, possible reason is short to ground.ΒΆ

Description

The measured accelerator pedal sensor signal is above the normal operating range.

Possible causes are:

  • The sensor wiring is defective (Short to ground).
  • The accelerator pedal sensor power supply is not correct.
  • The sensor is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault. The engine speed is reduced to low idle, if there are no other speed requests available.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Examine the accelerator pedal 1 sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
  • Make sure the 5 V power supply to the sensor is correct.
  • Try the operation with another accelerator pedal sensor to see if the accelerator pedal sensor is defective.
