2.2.73. SPN 171, FMI 4, Ambient temperature sensor: Electrical signal below normal, possible reason is short to ground.¶
Description
The measured ambient temperature sensor voltage signal is below normal (> 0,25 V).
Possible causes are:
- The ambient sensor is defective.
- The sensor wiring is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:
- Examine the ambient temperature sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
- Try the operation with another ambient temperature sensor to see if the ambient temperature sensor is defective.
