2.2.66. SPN 1639, FMI 19, Fan speed request CAN signal missing.ΒΆ

Description

The EEM4 system was unable to receive a valid fan speed request via CAN.

Possible causes are:

  • The fan wiring is defective.
  • The fan is defective.
  • The CAN bus is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Examine the fan control wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
  • Make sure the fan operation is correct.
  • Make sure the CAN bus operation is normal.
