2.2.6. SPN 102, FMI 1, Boost pressure sensor: Pressure below normal.ΒΆ

Description

The measured boost pressure is below the alarm level during operation.

Possible causes are:

  • The boost air piping is leaking.
  • The exhaust line is partially blocked. (DOC/DPF/SCR)
  • The turbocharger is defective.
  • The engine is mechanically defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power is reduced (Degradation Level 2). The CAN message indicates an active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then do the procedure that follows:

  • Make sure that the boost air system is not leaking air (the piping, the intercooler).
  • Make sure that the fresh air intake and air filter pressure alarm switch is in-active.
  • Examine the exhaust line for possible blockage. Remove DEF dosing module from the exhaust line and check the mixer condition.
  • Examine the condition of the turbo charger.
