Description
The measured solenoid valve 2 current is above normal. Reason is short circuit between solenoid valve 2 cables.
5/6 Cyl, 2/4 Cyl, 2/7 Cyl
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault. Engine power will be heavily reduced (Degradation Level 3). The engine running may be odd due to the short circuit..
Solution
First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:
- Check the solenoid valve wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
- Measure between the solenoid valve 2 cables, to see if there is a short circuit between the cables.
- Check the operation with another engine injector to see if the engine injector is defective.
