4.2.132. SPN 4332, FMI 31, SCR system ERROR: Emptying not completed at previous shutdown

Description

The EEM4 monitoring system has detected an SCR system ERROR. DEF supply module was unable to perform the emptying at the previous shutdown.

Possible causes are:

  • ECU powers were turned off before DEF supply module was successfully emptied the DEF system.
  • The DEF supply module is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.

Solution

First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:

  • If another fault code is active, it may cause the present error.
  • Check the vehicle’s main switch operation. If the main switch is manual, do not switch it off until the emptying is performed successfully.
  • If the error code is repetitive, check the operation with another DEF supply module to see if the supply module is defective.
