3.2.388. SPN 521022, FMI 31, Possible exhaust line temperature sensor interchangeΒΆ
Description
The exhaust temperature sensors may be cross-connected.
Possible causes are:
- The exhaust temperature sensors are cross-connected.
- One of the exhaust temperature sensors is disconnected.
- One of the exhaust temperature sensors is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.
NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power will be reduced after a certain time which is defined by an authority.
Solution
- Check that the exhaust temperature sensors are connected correctly.
- Check that the SCR catalyst inlet temperature sensors are not cross-connected.
- Check the exhaust temperature sensor wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
- Check that each of the exhaust temperature sensors are effective. Change defective sensors to new sensors.
