3.2.311. SPN 520243, FMI 31, ECU 2 Injector bank 0 short circuitΒΆ
Description
The EEM4 monotoring system has detected more than one cylinder error. If a cylinder error occurs in one bank, cylinder specific error is reported. If more than one cylinder error on one bank occurs at the same time, these errors are compiled automatically and are detected as a bank error.
Possible causes are in the 12-cyl engine:
- The solenoid valve 12 is defective.
- The solenoid valve 7 is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. The CAN message indicates active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:
- Check the solenoid valve 12 and 7 wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
- Measure the solenoid valve 12 and 7 low side to the engine ground, to see if there is a short circuit to bat.
- Measure between the solenoid valve 12 and 7 cables, to see if there is a short circuit between the cables.
