3.2.193. SPN 3573, FMI 13, throttle valve 2 calibration errorΒΆ
Description
The throttle valve 2 calibration process has failed. The throttle valveflap did not move like expected.
Possible causes are:
- The throttle valve 2 actuator wiring is defective.
- The throttle valve 2 flap is stuck or loose.
- There is dirt between the throttle valve 2 flap and the valve body.
- The throttle valve 2 actuator is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power will be reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:
- Check the throttle valve 2 wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).
- Check the throttle valve 2 to see if there is dirt between the flap and the valve body.
- Check that the throttle valve 2 flap is not loose.
- Check the operation with another throttle valveactuator to see if the actuator is defective.
