3.2.169. SPN 3515, FMI 15, DEF tank temperature errorΒΆ

Description

The AdBlue suction module is installed in the SCR tank. The suction module is an independent unit which measures all the critical parameters of the aqueous urea solution.

The measured quality sensor temperature indicates: Temperature error, the measured temperature is > +125 Celsius.

Possible causes are:

  • The fault is an internal electronic fault in the suction module.
  • Tank heating valve is defective.
  • The AdBlue suction module is defective.

Reaction in EEM

The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated.

NOTE: The present fault is classified as an emission related fault. Engine power will be reduced after a certain time which is defined by an authority.

Solution

  • Check the coolant circulation of the tank heating element; The hoses from the engine to the heating element and back to the engine.
  • Check tank heating valve wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).

The tank heating valve pin numbers at ECU:

EDC17CV41+ 1.94 Supply
EDC17CV41+ 1.21 Ground
_
  • Check the AdBlue suction module wiring, the connectors and the contact surfaces of the connector pins (possible oxidation).

Save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:

  • Check the operation with another tank heating valve to see if the valve is defective.
  • Check the operation with another AdBlue suction module to see if the module is defective.
  • If the AdBlue reducing agent is overheated, it should be changed to a new reducing agent.
