3.2.53. SPN 1189, FMI 13, WG Actuator 2 calibration error (ERROR 4)ΒΆ
Description
The WG 2 actuator calibration failed. Actuator selflearn is outside of the calibration window.
Possible causes are:
- The WG 2 actuator control shaft is defective.
- The WG 2 valve is stuck or the valve flap has loosened.
- The WG 2 actuator is defective.
Reaction in EEM
The FC is stored and the warning lamp is activated. Engine power will be reduced (Degradation Level 1). The CAN message indicates active fault.
Solution
First save the error log and then erase it. Restart the ECU after erasing the error log. If the fault occurs again during the next driving cycle, check the following paths:
- Check the WG 2 actuator assembly to detect the defective control shaft.
- Check that the slave side turbo WG valve is not loose.
- Check the slave side turbo WG valve to see if there is dirt between the valve flap and the turbo.
- Check the operation with another WG actuator to see if the actuator is defective.
